Skinny Tacos

One of my most ABSOLUTE favorite meals!!!!
Ingredients

  • 1 pound of 90% Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 packet of Taco Seasoning
  • 1 packet of Whole Grain Hard Taco Shells
  • 1 packet of Light Mexican Shredded Cheese
  • 1 bottle of Taco sauce (mild, medium, or hot)

Directions

  • Brown beef in frying pan until no pink. Drain the beef so that all excess fat is gone.
  • Put beef back in frying pan, adding 1 cup of water, and 1 packet of Taco Seasoning. Stir until completely dissolved, and let simmer for 10-15 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Once beef is done, make your tacos, and add the fixings that you like. You can always add shredded lettuce, tomatoes, or low fat sour cream.

Nutrition for 1 Taco  (3oz. beef)
Calories: 300
Protein – 30 grams
Carbohydrates – 10 grams
Fat – 15 grams

Granted, this is not the lowest calorie meal you could eat. But, you can’t eat grilled chicken and vegetables every night. This is a nice “break” from the routine. Still a healthy, low fat, hi-fiber meal that makes you feel like you cheated without the negative side effects of ingesting tons of calories – a nice alternative to Fast Food.
So there you have it, another healthy, and nutritious meal that takes next to no time to make… and it is DELICIOUS!
